ROAD CLEAN UP: Winfield Township's Annual Road Clean Up Day will be held on April 21st this year. Bags and gloves are available at the township building for those who will be participating. Please leave the collected debris along side the road and let the Secretary or Roadmaster know what areas you are picking up. This will save the road crew from travelling every road in the township looking for bags. There will be a dumpster available at the Township building for large items. Please do not place any hazardous materials in the bags or dumpster. In case of rain, the backup date is April 28th. Thank you in advance for helping keep Winfield Township beautiful!
SEWAGE PROJECT UPDATE: All pipe has been installed and restoration is underway in the yards and roads affected by the construction. We appreciate your continued patience as we put the finishing touches on what has been the largest project ever undertaken by Winfield Township. Hopefully the spring rains will be warm and gentle so that the grass seed can germinate and not wash out. Residents who will be hooking up will be receiving a mailing shortly outlining the steps that need to be taken to connect.
DENNY MILLS BRIDGE CLOSING: On February 23rd the Winfield Township Board of Supervisors entered into an agreement with Butler County to have the County Bridge Crew design and build the replacement bridge at Denny Mills. Under the agreement the county will provide labor and subcontracted services without markup and the township will pay all costs associated with the project to the County. The Township advertised in January for a loan to cover the costs of the project and three proposals were received. PNC Bank offered the best terms and we are working towards finalizing that loan by the end of April. The loan will allow us to pay the construction expenses right away while spreading the cost to the taxpayers of Winfield Township over the next decade. The County expects to receive the design from their engineers in early April. The Bridge Crew does three projects per year and we anticipate work will begin on the Denny Mills Bridge in early Fall with completion before the end of 2012. We appreciate your patience while the bridge remains closed though the Summer and into the Fall.
